If you think healthcare reform is the only thing driving up annual cost increases in health insurance then you obviously haven't been paying attention. Double-digit annual increases in health costs have been the norm for much of the past 15 years, reaching a peak increase of 13% in 2003. A retrospective review of the Kaiser Family Foundation's annual Employer Health Benefits Survey might be a good place to start educating yourself. Or you could check with your state's insurance commissioner. In the state where I live, healthcare reform is estimated to be responsible for at most 5% of the rate increases for next year.

Looking for a cause of skyrocketing annual rate increases? Take a look in the mirror. Baby boomers (a demographic I suspect you're on the upper end of) are going to overburden the healthcare system for the foreseeable future. Get used to it.
